Thompson Falls is a friendly town nestled in a quiet valley along the beautiful Clark Fork River and offers a multitude of attractions for visitors and residents alike. Annual events include the Flatiron Quilt Show in April, the Rose and Perennial Garden Show in June, and the Sanders County Christmas on Main Street and Bazaar in December. Visit the Historic Old Jail Museum in downtown Thompson Falls. Wildlife enthusiasts can view bighorn sheep in their natural habitat just 6 miles east of town at the Koo-Koo Sint Bighorn Sheep Viewing Site.

April 17-19 - Thompson Falls Beautification Days is a community wide effort to clean up town after the snow melts away and the flowers begin to bloom. This event offers ample volunteer opportunities, just put on your gardening gloves to help pick up garbage, work on the Mule Trail, help local elderly and handicap with their yards, spruce up your business or just pile your truck high with items to bring to County Dump (transfer site). This event is organized by the Thompson Falls Community Development group and the long list of sponsors, supporters and participating organizations can be found at www.BeautificationDays.com.
 

April 25-27 – Flatiron Quilt Show at the Thompson Falls High School Gymnasium
This is one of the largest quilt shows in northwest Montana with over 200 entries on display and some for sale. This is a judged quilt show with special ribbons. There will be a beautiful quilt raffled off on Sunday at 4:00pm. Don't forget to visit our boutique with lots of hand quilted items. There is a merchant mall with vendors from Montana, Idaho and Washington showing the latest fabrics and notions. A featured element is a tearoom where guests can sit and relax with a hot or cold beverage and homemade cookies for munching on. June 27 & 28, 2008 - Sanders County Yard-Saleing Event

Do you love a good yard sale? Is another man's trash potentially your treasure! Do you spend weekends shopping the flea market or the local thrift store? If you answered yes to any of these questions, then mark your calendar today for the Sanders County Yard Saleing Event! Highway 200 & Highway 28 offer you two days packed full of other's people stuff for you to explore. June 28h – Rose & Perennial Garden Party is a joint project of the Thompson Falls Historic Society and the Thompson Falls Garden Club. Entries are brought to the Old Jail Museum in the morning of the Rose and Perennial Garden Party. There are no fees for admission. There are three categories to enter: Roses, Other Garden Perennials and Veggie Creations (children 12 and under). The Valley String group will be there for your enjoyment. July 4 & 5 - David Thompson Days ~ A Community Rendezvous features a Main Street parade, a living history camp that showcases the life and times of trapper and explorer David Thompson, vendors selling handcrafted items, special guest speaker and author Jack Nesbit (presented by the Historical Society), live music at River Bend's Golf Course clubhouse, skit about David Thompson at the Rex Theater, canoe races, and demonstrations on period activities such as Dutch oven cooking and fire starting. August 8h- 10, 2008 - 29th annual Huckleberry Festival

This year is the 29th annual Huckleberry Festival in the beautiful community of Trout Creek, which has been proclaimed by the legislature as the 'Huckleberry Capitol of Montana.'

A free, family event, it includes live entertainment of many kinds, a huckleberry pancake breakfast, run/walk for fun, parade, carnival, children's games, arts and crafts booths, exhibits, huckleberry dessert contest, displays and a family dance under the stars. August 28-31, 2008 Sanders County Fair & Rodeo

An old fashioned country fair, one you'd see in a Norman Rockwell painting. There is no charge to enter the fairgrounds. Agricultural exhibits abound with locals displaying their talents, green thumbs and individuality. PRCA-sanctioned rodeos and a Bull-A-Rama for westerners; arena cross motorcycle event for the young-at-heart (or those of us reliving our youth); for the crash'em, bas'em types - the largest demolition derby in the northwest; plus a carnival for the 'kid' in us all. Located along the banks of the Clark Fork River and surrounded by the Cabinet Mountains to the north and the Coeur d'Alene mountains to the south, the Sanders County Fair is the place to be on Labor Day weekend.
